Name: Alex Ayala

Age: 51

Occupation: Business Owner

As a family man and business owner for 22 years, I understand the challenges and

opportunities in our community. Our community is struggling with rising rents and a lack of

affordable housing. Our parks, walking paths, and public trails need maintenance and our roads

and sidewalks require urgent attention.

As a little league board member and coach, I value mentoring our youth and creating

opportunities for their growth.

I am not a politician or financed by special interests; my commitment is solely to the residents of

District 1. With a degree in Political Science from San Jose State University and a background

in law enforcement, I bring a balanced perspective on public safety.

While growth in Salinas is inevitable, it must be sustainable. Growth must benefit all residents,

not just a few. We must find ways to increase city revenue without diverting resources from

underserved neighborhoods.

Together, we can create a Salinas where everyone thrives, with safe streets, secure housing,

and vibrant public spaces.
